The 2011 Leading Men Summit
The Leading Men Summit is your annual opportunity to connect with other church leaders who have a passion for developing and strengthening the men within their churches. Each Summit is designed to inspire and equip you with practical ideas to foster growth and action among the men of your church. Bring your entire leadership team to fuel-up on take-aways and to learn from other leaders from around the region.
Why you should be there on November 10.
If you have a calling to mobilize the men in your church toward intentional spiritual growth and outreach, the Leading Men Summit is for you. Pastors and lay leaders of men's ministries gather each November to explore how to strengthen the men in their churches and strengthen their churches in the process. This year's Summit will be held on Thursday, November 10th on the campus of Bethel University (website) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 (registration begins at 8:30 a.m.). The cost to attend the Summit $49 per leader. Lunch is included at the end of the event to serve as a debriefing time with your leadership team.
Going Deep with Gordon MacDonald.
What could happen if the church got really serious about cultivating mentoring relationships? Best-selling author and long-time pastor Gordon MacDonald addresses this question head-on in his soon-to-be-released book, Going Deep: Becoming a Person of Influence (Thomas Nelson, Release date: October 18, 2011)
At the 9th Annual Leading Men Summit on November 10th Gordon MacDonald will tackle that question live. You'll be stretched in your thinking about cultivating deep community in your church. "What might happen if a church made the development of deep people its highest priority?" MacDonald asks in his book. "Let me take the question a step further," he continues. "What if a church decided that its pastor's greatest responsibility was to lead the effort to produce a continuous flow of deep people?" Gordon MacDonald will steer our conversation and offer insights into more effective ways to disciple men in our church. Be sure to bring your leadership team to be a part of this year's Summit.
About Gordon MacDonald
Gordon MacDonald is not retired. At 72 years of age he continues as an author, speaker, teacher and an encourager of younger people. He serves as chancellor of Denver Seminary and editor-at-large of Leadership Journal. In short, he is (happily) busier than ever.
MacDonald was a pastor for more than forty years, most recently the senior minister at Grace Chapel, Lexington, Massachusetts. Other pastorates were in New York City, Southern Illinois and Kansas. He has served as president of Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship, Interim President of Denver Seminary, and as Chairman of the Board of World Relief Corporation. Gordon MacDonald has written 20 books and co-authored others with his wife, Gail. Perhaps his best known title has been Ordering Your Private World which won the Gold Medallion and the Platinum Awards from the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association.
By clicking the "Register Now" button you will be taken to the Bethel University website to complete your registration. You'll also have the opportunity to learn about and register for a special afternoon session that Gordon MacDonald will be leading for Pastors and ministry staff.
